Therapist designed box of finger fun! Includes tasks to work on small muscle control of the fingers. Start by manipulating three small balls around the palm. Next use the unique adjustable butterfly device for placing washers. Third task places chips into hand held container and last uses the pencil-like magnet device to pick-up, retrieve and retain as many washers as possible in one hand. Unusual and motivating devices challenges the hands and encourages hard work from the finger muscles needed for writing.
In hand manipulation kit08/10/2017 ByOT Mom Tracey le Roux This kit is a good one for older kids, who feel that toys are too babyish for them to work with. I numbered the wooden balls and had the kids try and arrange them in a certain numbered order. Boys especially enjoyed doing activities with "real" tools - and you can really give the hand muscles a good workout. I found the kids were working the different arches of their hands, and also getting effective thumb opposition and manipulation.
I gave it four stars as I felt that 4 wooden balls would be more challenging than 3, and there could be a few more washers and butterfly pegs. However, the activities themselves are a good challenge, and if I could have given 4 1/2 stars, I would have!

In-hand Manipulation Kit
Good collection of items, not well thought out12/03/2019 ByTracy As a long time customer of PFOT, I appreciate the convenience of the kits offered. This one was disappointing to me because, while it offers a nice collection of items, there were no activity ideas, which used to be included in kits, it also has random items, not in the description, a lace, while pictured, and one of the items, the magnet, has a sharp piece of metal sticking out of it which looks like it had a pen clip once that had been broken off. There were also not enough of these inexpensive items, 4 washers, small 3 nuts and 3 bolts, to encourage repetition of movements. Our responseThank you for letting us know about these issues. Please email us your contact info so we may send you replacements and directions. There should have been an activity sheet included that explains what to do with the items. There also should NOT be anything sharp! We will inspect what we have in inventory and will be happy to replace your broken one. PFOT
