Each section provides:
• an introduction to the lessons including any additional research
• detailed Lesson/session plans include:
o list of materials
o procedures
o adaptations to address specific strengths and limitations
o follow up messages with activities that transfer to other environments, particularly home, school and community, to provide opportunities for generalization of developing skills
• goals and measurable objectives with reproducible progress charts

Section 1:Includes a number of very concrete tools and games to help children perceive appropriate distance and body orientation when communicating.
Section 2: This section concentrates on making and interpreting facial expressions of others. Lessons help children identify distinct facial features and body language used to express happy/sad; angry/surprised; bored/scared; and tired/confused. Personal experiences and facial expressions are reinforced by recording stories and drawings in a personalized self-made book titled, My Feelings Book.
Section 3: Contains structured activities to help children shift from the importance of observing others to the understanding that others are observing them. Students learn the skills that are the basis of perspective taking,” a critical skill needed to cultivate relationships and monitor one’s own behaviors.
SECTION 4: An Appendix, which includes several additional user friendly tools, a listing of journals and books containing the research that was used in developing the foundation for the program and a list of references for further exploration.
